In this module, Dr. Berman discusses the various clinical and radiographic presentations of horizontal root fractures and avulsions secondary to a traumatic dental injury. The management and prognosis assessment of teeth with horizontal root fractures and avulsions are essential components for maximizing the long-term success with teeth that have had these types of traumatic dental injuries. The goals of an interdisciplinary approach are to better diagnose the presence and associated issues concerning horizontal root fractures and avulsions, in addition to determining the prognosis and clinically managing the tooth.

Understand the clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of avulsions.
